US 84
U.S. Route 84 (US 84) is an east–west United States Highway in southwestern Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas in American Truck Simulator. The route is separated into four sections: The first section runs from US 160 in Pagosa Springs to US 62 and US 82 in Lubbock. The second section runs from Interstate 20 and US 277 to US 83 and Loop 322 within Abilene, concurrent with US 83. The third section runs from a truck stop to US 67, US 183, and US 377 within Early, concurrent with US 67. The fourth section runs from US 59 and FM 947 to US 96 within Tenaha, concurrent with US 59.
US 84 in New Mexico is partially signed north–south despite being nationally an east–west highway due to its physical orientation between Colorado and Fort Sumner. It is also physically orientated north–south within Colorado, but there are no directional assemblies of the highway's direction there.
In real life, US 84 spans a total length of 1,919 miles (3,088 km) from Pagosa Springs, Colorado to nearby Midway, Georgia.
Course
US 84 begins at an intersection with US 160 in Pagosa Springs in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. The section within the state is relatively short with no other major junctions at the highway's course in Colorado, between its western terminus and the New Mexico state line, which is where the highway crosses afterwards.
In New Mexico, the highway overlaps with US 64 as it passes through Tierra Amarilla and the Great Continental Divide. After the 64 branches off the highway, it passes nearby Carson National Forest to the east as it traverses southward, while the surrounding terrain changes into a semi-arid climate. A rest area, where a viewpoint is also presented, and Camel Rock is passed; here, the highway begins to overlap with US 285 as it widens into a four-lane highway into New Mexico's capital, Santa Fe. Through the capital city, the road intersects the relief route, NM 599, and follows St. Francis Drive through the capital. US 84's concurrency with US 285 ends at an interchange with Interstate 25, which also begins overlapping the latter road to the southeast and avoids the southernmost portion of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The highway branches off of I-25 at exit 339 and follows a path of 40 miles (65 km) until it merges with Interstate 40 at exit 256; soon afterwards, the highway enters Santa Rosa. It diverges I-40 at exit 277 and heads southeast to then merge with US 60 in Fort Sumner. The two highways head east across the state's shortgrass prairies and the Llano Estacado into Clovis, where the two highways merge with US 70; soon afterwards, the highways enter Texico, where US 60 diverges US 70 and 84 to the northeast.
Crossing the state line into Texas, the highways enter Farwell across from New Mexico. They turn southeastward through Lariat and Progress, where a gap of US 70 begins, breaking the concurrency of the highway and US 84. US 84 continues to follow a northwest–southeast path into Lubbock, where one of the gaps in the route begin at the overlapped highways of US 62 and US 82. Between Lubbock and the state of Louisiana, the highway is split into four sections, providing three gaps in the highway's course between New Mexico and Louisiana. The separating courses of US 84 in Texas (from west to east) overlaps with US 83 in Abilene, US 67 in Early, and US 59 in Tenaha, intersecting Interstate 20, US 277, US 183, US 377, and US 96 respectively at each segement. Eventually, the highway will continue into Louisiana.
