TOTSO

TOTSO is the abbreviation of "Turn off to stay on", a transportation term to describe a road junction layout where motorists must turn away in order to follow an otherwise continuous numbered route.

Finland

• V3 at its junction with V9 in Tampere.

France

• A6 at its junction with A31 and A36 near Dijon.
• 2 TOTSOs for A28 near Le Mans. Between them the autoroute follows A11.
• A31 at its junction with A311 near Dijon.
• A43 at its junction with A41 south of Lyon.
• 4 TOTSOs for A89:
  • 2 near Clermont-Ferrand. Between them the autoroute follows A71
  • 2 near Limoges. Between them the autoroute follows A20
• Rocade de Bordeaux at its junction with A10 northeast of Bordeaux. This TOTSO is different from others in that the road number does change at the turn. (A630 to the west and N230 to the south)
• Rocade de Rennes at its southeastern corner. The straight way runs east and becomes A81 after the toll gate.

Germany

Some TOTSOs are also present in German Truck Simulator (GTS):

• In GTS and ETS2 prior to 1.32, A1 has three TOTSO's east of Hamburg, two at the A7 and one at the A24. All are removed when the Autobahn is straightened under ETS2 1.32. Conversely, a new TOTSO was added to A1 at the 4-way cloverleaf interchange outside Düsseldorf in ETS 2 version 1.40.
• A4 when it runs into A45 near Köln
• A5 at its junction with the A45 near Frankfurt am Main.
• A6 when it runs into A3 and A9, separately, near Nürnberg.
• A10 when it meets A9, A13 and A24 respectively.
• Since ETS2 1.32, A13 has a TOTSO in the middle. (Spreewald in real life)
• A24 at its junction with the A19 north of Berlin.
• In GTS and ETS2 prior to 1.40, A99 has a TOTSO at its junction with the A9 near München. This is removed in ETS2 1.40.

Italy

• The east end of its A4 actually turns south, but truckers can only travel north onto the A23.
• A14 at its junction with the A16 north of Bari.

Latvia

• A3 in Valmiera (2x).
• A6 between Rīga and Daugavpils (4x).
• A9 in Liepāja.
• A11 in Liepāja.
• 2 TOTSOs for A12:
  • At its junction with A15 west of Rēzekne.

• A5 south of Kaunas.

• E6 turns off from E18 to the east of Oslo harbour. Truckers can only continue on the E18.
• E18 to the southeast of Oslo, as well as midway between Oslo and Kristiansand.
• E39 out of Kristiansand.
• E134 near the MS Stein quarry southwest of Oslo.

Poland

• A1 near Katowice.
• R1 near Czech border.
• The A1 / R1 junction midway between Lodz and Gdansk.
• R4 at its starting point from the A4.
• S7 near Warszawa.
• The S7 / R7 junction west of Lublin.
• S8 / R8 near Warszawa and at its junction with R1.

Portugal

• A1 at its junction with A44 in Porto.
• A25 at its junction with A23 in Guarda.
