U.S. Route 290 (US 290) is an east–west intrastate United States Highway in central Texas in American Truck Simulator. It runs from Interstate 10 east of Junction to Interstate 35 and FM 734 in Austin.

US 290 is one of several rendered US Highways to run within a state in real life, along with US 57, US 96, US 181 and US 350, which excludes such other highways that are considered to run "within" a state in ATS, but the rest of these routes has yet to introduce its other section(s) along its course through several other states that run within in real life.

Also, in real life, US 290 spans a total length of 261.187 miles (420.340 km) from nearby Segovia to Houston, Texas.

Course

US 290 begins at Interstate 10, just east of US 83 and the city of Junction, and heads east across Edwards Plateau. The highway winds around rolling hills, crosses Spring Creek, and into Fredericksburg, where it follows concurrently with US 87 in the western part of the city, and a viewpoint is passed; soon afterwards, US 290 begins to run parallel with the Pedernales River to the north. It passes by several wineries, including a Mon Coeur vineyard, shown as part of Austin, and the 290 Wine Castle at Chateau de Chasse; here, a rest stop is also presented. The highway begins to overlap with SH 71 as soon as it enters Austin, the state capital of Texas. It then follows a concurrency with Interstate 35 after turning north at the 5-stack interchange, where it also branches off of SH 71. The highways pass downtown Austin to the west, and then they split into two decks while it still runs through the Austin city limits before the 290 reaches its eastern terminus at Parmer Lane (FM 734), while I-35 continues towards the north to Waco and the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
