TX 71
State Highway 71 (SH 71) is an east–west state highway in central and southeastern Texas in American Truck Simulator. The route is separated into two sections: The first section runs from US 290 in Austin to Interstate 10 and US 90 east of Schulenburg. The second section runs entirely within El Campo, at US 59.
In real life, SH 71 spans a total length of 253.199 miles (407.484 km) from Brady to Blessing, Texas.
Course
SH 71 begins at a U-Turn (for westbound travelers turning back east) on US 290 in western Austin, the state capital of Texas. The highway overlaps with the latter route as it travels south of downtown, heading eastward under Loop 275 and intersect Interstate 35 at Austin's five level interchange, where the 290 then follows I-35 to the north from here. As the highway leaves the state capital, it crosses the Colorado River (the Texas Colorado River, not the river that flows through the Grand Canyon in Arizona) and intersects US 77 in La Grange. The highway turns to the south before reaching a gap in the route at Interstate 10 and US 90, which then resumes in the town of El Campo; here, it intersects US 59, along with its service to a truck stop and Victoria's Grand Pastures livestock auction facility. Although the "accessible" eastern terminus of the highway is in El Campo in-game, its actual eastern terminus is at SH 35 near Old Ocean, which is rendered as an inaccessible section of SH 71.
