US 277
U.S. Route 277 (US 277) is a north–south United States Highway in western Texas in American Truck Simulator. The route is separated into two sections: The first section runs from Loop 517 in Carrizo Springs to US 67 and US 87 in San Angelo. The second section runs from Interstate 20, US 83, and US 84 in Abilene to Wichita Falls.
In real life, US 277 spans a total length of 633 miles (1,019 km) from Carrizo Springs, Texas to Newcastle, Oklahoma.
Course
US 277, in real life, begins at US 83 in Carrizo Springs, but in ATS, it presently beings there inaccessibly. The southern terminus in the game is actually at Loop 517, just east of the 83. Heading northwest, US 277 passes by a Border Patrol Interior Checkpoint as it approaches into Eagle Pass, where it begins to run parallel with the Mexican border to the west. Crossing Tequesquite Creek, a rest stop is passed before entering Del Rio, where it overlaps with US 90 within the city. Here, it also intersects Spur 239 and an inaccessible section of Spur 277. US 90 branches off the highway, and a minor road, which has access to a viewpoint at Governor's Landing. Heading north, the highway crosses the eastern portion of the Amistad Reservoir; soon afterwards, a second Border Patrol Interior Checkpoint is passed. US 277 ascends onto the Edwards Plateau as it approaches Sonora, where it overlaps the entire length of Loop 467 and intersects Interstate 10. The highway descends the plateau into San Angelo, where it overlaps a portion of US 87 through the city, following Bryant, Koenigheim (northbound), and Abe Streets (southbound) before intersecting US 67. Here, a gap in the route begins here and resumes at Interstate 20, US 83, and US 84 in Abilene; here, the highway overlaps with US 83 into Anson. Tracing across the central plains, the highway heads northeast towards its junction with US 82 in Seymour and begins a concurrency with the latter route into Wichita Falls; here, it then overlaps US 281 and US 287, and the entire length of Interstate 44. US 82 branches off of the 277 and follows the 287 towards Fort Worth and parallels the Red River. US 277 approaches its northern terminus at exit 6 of I-44, to eventually continue into Oklahoma.
