Gas Stations
A gas station or petrol station is a structure where one can refuel their vehicle in various SCS Software titles.
Description
Fuel is essential for trucks, therefore gas stations are present from the very first SCS games.
Euro Truck Simulator gas stations are on intercity roads, highways and country borders. All of them offer resting spots such that truckers may take rest if the "fatigue" setting is on. Larger gas stations have to be accessed via a slip road, while others are directly next to the roads. Similar settings for gas stations also apply for subsequent games, such as UK Truck Simulator, German Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Two new features regarding gas stations are introduced in Euro Truck Simulator 2:
- If a trucker upgrades one of their garages to a large one, a gas station is installed, with fuel price 15% cheaper than other gas stations in the country.
- The Scandinavia expansion of Euro Truck Simulator 2 sees first extensive deployment of in-city gas stations. Unlike their out-of-town counterparts, most of these gas stations offer no resting spot – truckers needing rest may find a nearby hotel or service shop.
American Truck Simulator, which is released 7 months after Scandinavia, also features in-town gas stations together with highway service stops. In addition, some ATS gas stations accept petroleum products. This feature is also present in Vive la France and Italia DLCs of ETS 2, although earlier map DLCs or the base map of ETS 2 still do not accept cargo.
Games that span across multiple countries / states (i.e. Euro Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator) have fuel prices varying from state to state, as illustrated in the table below.
Truckers should note that SCS might tweak fuel prices on game updates. For example, ETS 2 version 1.30 has fuel prices slightly flattened – the cost per liter price as less extreme in countries like United Kingdom or Norway.
