U.S. Route 6 (US 6) is an east–west US Highway in a small part of central California, in central Nevada and Utah, and northern Colorado in American Truck Simulator. The route is separated into three sections: The first section runs from US 395 in Bishop to US 50 in Delta. The second section runs from Interstate 15 in Spanish Fork to Interstate 76, US 34, SH 39, and SH 52 in Wiggins. The third section runs within Sterling.

In real life, US 6 runs just shy of 3199 miles (5148 km) between Bishop, CA, and Provincetown, MA, making it the second-longest US highway.

Course

US 6 begins at its junction with US 395 in Bishop, CA, which sits in the Owens Valley in the Great Basin. After running along the White Mountains, the highway enters Nevada, where it soon encounters US 95 at the northern end of its middle section in Coaldale. The two highways run concurrently to the north of Lone Mountain and part ways in Tonopah. Just outside of town the 6 intersects with NV 376 and proceeds through the barren Great Basin Desert to Ely, meeting NV 375 along the way. At Ely the highway meets US 50, with which it runs concurrently as far as Delta, UT.

Between Delta and Interstate 15 is a gap in the route. US 6 resumes in Spanish Fork, at its junction with I-15, and crosses the Wasatch Mountains via Soldier Summit (7477 ft) and descends down Price Canyon to Castle Gate, where it begins a concurrency with US 191. After passing a weigh station, the highway runs along the edge of Price, and from there heads south along the Book Cliffs. At the San Rafael Reef, the highway meets Interstate 70, with which it begins a concurrency. US 6 runs concurrent with I-70 to Denver, CO, barring a small diversion in Fruita, where it switches to a concurrency with Interstate 76, which it follows to Wiggins.

The route resumes near the Global Mills food plant in Sterling. From there, US 6 follows city streets, intersecting with SH 14, US 138, and I-76 along the way, before heading east to the Reata Travel Stop, where it currently terminates.

History

  • In update 1.5, as part of the 1:35 to 1:20 map rescale, new sections were added to the existing route to accommodate the new map scale, including a new section from the new west terminus at an at-grade three-way junction with US 395 in Bishop to Tonopah, partly concurrent with US 95 from its new north terminus in Coaldale. The east terminus was changed to a new at-grade three-way junction with US 50 and US 93 south of Ely.
