Loop 323 (Texas)

State Highway Loop 323 (Loop 323) is a state highway loop that partially encircles the western part of Tyler, Texas in American Truck Simulator. It runs from US 69 south of the city to the same route north of it.

In real life, Loop 323 encircles the entirety of Tyler, Texas, spanning a total length of 19.7 miles (31.7 km).

Course

Loop 323 serves as the truck route around the city center of Tyler; in ATS, only the western part of the loop is featured. The counterclockwise end is at US 69 south of the city. The loop travels west, and then it turns north after passing by a Wallbert warehouse. The loop approaches its junction with SH 31 at a service shop west of the city; soon afterwards, the loop turns east to terminate at its clockwise end at US 69 in the northern side of the city.

Trivia

• In the initial release of the Texas map expansion DLC, Loop 323 was incorrectly marked as "SH 49" on the in-game map. In real life, SH 49 is located further northeast of Tyler and Longview, specifically from Mount Pleasant to the Louisiana state line near Trees. Around Tyler and Lindale, there is also state highway loop with the same number as well, which may have caused the mislabeling of Loop 323 during development of the DLC. This was later corrected and fixed in update 1.47; however, it did not re-appear when update 1.48 released.
  • If SH 49 were to acurally appear in ATS, it would have been rendered either at US 259 in Daingerfield or at US 59 in Jefferson.
• Loop 323 is one of two state highway loops to be marked on the map in ATS, along with Loop 338 around Odessa.
