Loop 287 (Texas)
State Highway Loop 287 (Loop 287) is a state highway loop that encircles Lufkin, Texas in American Truck Simulator. The loop is also concurrent with several other highways: US 59 from the north to the south, US 69 from the northwest to the east, and SH 103 at the northwestern corner of the city.
In real life, the total length of the loop is 14.5 miles (23.3 km).[1] The featured loop in ATS is 68 miles (111 km) longer than in real life.
Course
Loop 287 forms a complete loop around the city of Lufkin and is the only loop around the city. Starting at the northwestern corner of the city, at the junction with US 69 and SH 103, Loop 287 travels concurrently with US 69 across the northern and eastern sides of the city. The loop intersects a minor road (resembling Martin Luther King Drive in real life) that serves an industrialized area north of the city and US 59 at North Timberland Drive. It then follows concurrently with the said route around the eastern side of the city, and US 69 leaves its concurrency with the loop at Denman Avenue. Now traveling west, south of the city, US 59 breaks away from the loop at South First Street. For the rest of its course, Loop 287 turns north to intersect SH 94 west of the city, passes by a gas station, and approaches its interchange with US 69 and SH 103, where the loop ends and starts.
