US 281
U.S. Route 281 (US 281) is a north–south United States Highway in Texas in American Truck Simulator. The route is separated into two sections: The first section runs from US 59 northwest of Corpus Christi to Interstate 35 in San Antonio, concurrent with Interstate 37. The second section runs from US 82, US 277, and US 287 to exit 6 of Interstate 44 within Wichita Falls, mostly concurrent with Interstate 44 and US 277.
In real life, US 281 spans a total length of 1,875 miles (3,018 km) from Brownsville, Texas, near the Mexican border, to the Canadian border near Dunseith, North Dakota. It is the longest three-digit US Highway in the United States.
Course
For its entire route, US 281 in ATS is mostly concurrent with a couple of Interstate Highways, including Interstates 37 and 44. The highway begins at US 59 northwest of Corpus Christi and follows I-37 to the northwest in South Texas. It passes by a weigh station and a nearby Petrolucent oil well, which is accessed via FM 2049. Entering San Antonio, it intersects the overlapped highways of Interstate 10, US 87, and US 90 southeast of downtown, and Interstate 35 soon afterwards, which is where the gap in the route begins here. US 281 resumes at the interchange of US 82, US 277, and US 287 in Wichita Falls and follows the 277 and 287 to the north, and then it overlaps with Interstate 44 soon afterwards. US 287 branches off the highway, while US 281 and the two other overlapping routes, I-44 and US 277, approach their northern terminus (eastern terminus for I-44) at exit 6 near the Wichita Falls Azure Glasswork north of the city, to eventually continue into Oklahoma.
