Special routes of US 87
There are a number of special routes of U.S. Route 87 (US 87) that connects US 87 to downtown areas, bypass city centers, or provide alternate routes around an area.
US 87 features eight different sections of special routes (seven business routes and one bypass route) in American Truck Simulator. They are located in the cities of Dalhart, Cheyenne, Casper, Sheridan, and Great Falls, as well as in the scenery towns of Big Spring, Wheatland, and Douglas respectively.
Business routes
Big Spring business route
Business US 87-M (Bus. US 87-M) follows the old route of US 87 through Big Spring in western Texas. The route heads north from its parent route and follows Gregg Street. Between the termini, a viewpoint is presented. The northern terminus of the route is at exit 117 of Interstate 20, which is also where it meets its parent route in-game.
As of the initial release of the Texas map expansion, only the southern portion of the business route south of I-20 is designated, and the southern portion of the bypass around the town is also rendered, which carries the US 87 designation. If the northern portion of the bypass opens in the game, then the business route will be extended further north of town and I-20 to, once again, meet its parent route toward Lamesa.
