US 14

U.S. Route 14 (US 14) is an east-west US Highway in northern Wyoming in American Truck Simulator. The highway is divided into two discontinuous sections. The first of these runs from US 16, US 20, US 89, US 191, and US 287 in Yellowstone National Park to Sheridan. The second runs from US 16 and WYO 59 in Gillette to a Bushnell Farms depot in Devils Tower. In real life, US 14 runs 1398 miles from Lake, WY, to Chicago, IL.

Course

US 14 begins at the eastern entrance to Yellowstone National Park, concrrent with US 16 and US 20. From here, the route runs east, passing through the city of Cody before reaching Greybull, WY, in the Bighorn Basin. Out of Greybull, the highway climbs through the canyon of Shell Creek and up into the Bighorn Range, which it summits at Granite Pass (9033 ft/2753 m). High in the mountains, the highway intersects with US 14A at its eastern terminus at Burgess Junction, and shortly after descends the Bighorns along a scenic and twisting grade, which features a viewpoint. Out of the mountains, the highway meets Interstate 90, which it follows to Sheridan.

In real life, US 14 runs north of I-90 from Sheridan to Gillette, where it rejoins with the interstate; this segment is not present in ATS. The 14 resumes at Gillette, which it runs through as 2nd Street to I-90. The 14 is again concurrent with the interstate, this time as far as Moorcroft, where it breaks to the north. In real life, the 14 passes to the south of Devils Tower, with the monument accessible by WY 24; in the game, the 14 takes this role, and currently ends at a Bushnell ranch near Devils Tower.

Wyoming alternate route

U.S. Highway 14A (US 14A) is an alternate route of US 14 in northeastern Wyoming. While its two ends in Cody and Burgess Junction are included in the Wyoming DLC, they are both inaccessible, meaning there is no path onto this alternate route directly from US 14. The only part of US 14A which is accessible in American Truck Simulator is in the town of Lovell, made available with the Montana DLC.

Sheridan business loop

U.S. Route 14 Business (US 14 Bus.) is a business loop of US 14 in Sheridan, Wyoming. The route begins at exit 20 of Interstate 90, and follows Main Street to the south. After running through downtown Sheridan, they leave Main Street and follow Coffeen Avenue towards the southern limits of the city. Passing by a Heartwood Furniture depot and a big-box Wallbert market, the route turns off Coffeen Avenue and follow Brundage Lane towards its eastern terminus at exit 25 of I-90.

Release History

• In the initial version of the Wyoming map expansion DLC, the sections of US 14 from US 20 and WYO 789 in Greybull to Sheridan and from US 16 and WYO 59 in Gillette to Devils Tower were added.
• In update 1.45, the section of concurrent with US 16 and US 20 from US 89, US 191, and US 287 in Yellowstone National Park to WYO 789 in Greybull was added, along with Cody.
• In the initial version of the Montana map expansion DLC, US 14 in Gillette was extended slightly further north, and the section of US 14A in Lovell was added.
