The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America is a federal republic composed of 50 states.

Summary

At 9.8 million square kilometers and with over 325 million people, the United States is the world's third largest country by total area and the third-most populous. It is bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The United States additionally shares a maritime border with Russia to the northwest, and The Bahamas and Cuba to the southeast. The United States consists of eight regions with 50 states with Washington, D.C. as a Federal District and Puerto Rico as a territory.

First released in 18 Wheels of Steel series, The United States of America returns in American Truck Simulator. It is the only country featured in the game, divided in states. Because of the 1:20 scale, only a handful of states are modeled so far.

Regions

Census Regions

The statistical regions are categorized by the U.S. government agency called 'U.S. Census Bureau.' This is the most commonly used classification system [1]. This statistical region system has nine divisions in total for each region.

Economic Regions

The economic regions are categorized by the U.S. government agency called 'Bureau of Economic Analysis.' [2]

Trivia

  • In the Missouri DLC Release Stream [3] Pavel stated they were worried that the central part of the continent stating some people have not so nice names for some of the states where they aren't shiny or huge, in a way this is true America, there are so many places and cool things, that it may not be a multi-million dollar city or major landmark but we can always find jewels. Every mile is interesting. Pavel was worried about the Plains and Midwest, of course there are more biomes to come (South, North, Great Lakes, East Coast or New England) and these are going be adding more variety, each biome/region is unique and interesting. American Truck Simulator is a condensed experience (scale 1:20) you find and bump into landmarks and locations faster compared to real life driving for hours to reach a location.
