Release History
- In the initial version of American Truck Simulator, Interstate 5 had a TOTSO north of Redding as it intersected with Churn Creek Road at a cloverleaf interchange. US 395 began at an at-grade four-way junction with Churn Creek Road and headed east towards Nevada, while CA 299 began at a diamond interchange with Interstate 5 on Cypress Avenue and headed west to Eureka. Redding featured a Bitumen depot, an Eddy's supermarket, a Gallon Oil refinery and gas station, a Sell Goods warehouse, a Voltison Motors car dealer, a Wallbert warehouse, a hotel, a recruitment agency, and a service shop in a southern part of the city, as well as a Bushnell Farms farm, a rest stop, and a truck stop south of the city and a rest stop west of the city. The only landmark in Redding was the Sacramento River, which wound under numerous roads and highways in the city.
- In update 1.5, as part of the 1:35 to 1:20 map rescale, Interstate 5's TOTSO was removed as its route was straightened. Churn Creek Road was truncated from the cloverleaf interchange to Hartnell Avenue, as Interstate 5 intersected there with a new freeway section of CA 299, which began at an at-grade three-way junction with Market Street and ended east of a new diamond interchange with Victor Avenue. From there, CA 299 headed east towards Nevada on the previous route of US 395. The previous section of CA 299 in Redding was redesignated as CA 44, along which a western part of the city containing Downtown Redding with a rest stop was added on Market Street.
- In update 1.31, the cloverleaf interchange of Interstate 5 and CA 299 was rebuilt.
- In update 1.35, CA 299 east of the at-grade three-way junction with Market Street was redesignated as CA 44, as the junction became an at-grade four-way junction and CA 299 was moved to a new section of Market Street and Lake Boulevard, along which a northwestern part of the city was added and of which on the former road a garage was added and on the latter road a diamond interchange with Interstate 5. East of Interstate 5, CA 299 headed east to Alturas, passing a new Deepgrove timber harvest site. The previous section of CA 44 became undesignated.
- In update 1.41, as part of the first phase of the California rework, the roads around Redding were rebuilt. The truck stop south of the city was replaced by the scenery town of Corning and the truck stops there. The rest stops just outside the city, on CA 299 to the west and a minor road to the south, were removed. A weigh station was added on Interstate 5 between Corning and Redding and replaced the previous weigh station north of Sacramento.
- In update 1.44, as part of the second phase of the California rework, Redding was completely reworked. All roads and junctions were rebuilt, and CA 273 and a diamond interchange of Interstate 5 and Knighton Road were added. The Bitumen depot, the Eddy's supermarket, the Gallon Oil refinery and gas station, the Voltison Motors car dealer, the hotel, the rest stop, and the service shop were removed. Anderson including a Bushnell Farms cattle auction, a Coastline Mining depot, a Deepgrove sawmill, and an HMS Machinery warehouse, as well as a large Drake Car Dealer, a Home Store market, a truck stop with a Gallon Oil unloading point, and an inaccessible airport were added to the southern part of the city, in which the Sell Goods warehouse and the Wallbert warehouse were moved and rebuilt and to which the garage was moved. A USBB factory, a Freightliner truck dealer, and a gas station were added to the northwestern part. A northeastern part featuring a big Wallbert food market was added.
- In update 1.51, the Gallon Oil unloading point was replaced by a WP unloading point.
- In update 1.53, the Wallbert food market and Wallbert warehouse were replaced by a Wallbert market and Enterpriser warehouse, respectively.
Trivia
- Before update 1.35, in the blog post from SCS called New Road Connections[2], it was quoted that a Truck Dealer would be added, but at the final launch of the update, no dealership was added. It was finally added in update 1.44.
