Hungary (Hungarian: Magyarország) is a landlocked country in Central Europe featured in the Going East! DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Summary

Hungary is the only newly included country in the Going East! DLC. The country is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Austria to the west, Slovenia to the southwest, Croatia and Serbia to the south, Romania to the east, and Ukraine to the northeast. When the Going East! DLC was first released, only Budapest and Debrecen were included. Later, SCS released Pécs and Szeged at the update 1.19. Another Hungarian city, Miskolc, is more populous than Pécs, but it isn't featured in the game, probably due to its proximity to Debrecen and Košice, Slovakia.

Hungary is a popular tourist destination. Its capital Budapest offers a number of historical buildings, baths and parks and is considered a financial hub. Hungary covers an area of 93,030 square km and it has 70,050 km of paved roads, including 1515 km of motorways.

Roads

Hungarian motorways are split into two classifications: Motorways (Hungarian: autópálya) and Expressways (Hungarian: autóút). In real-life, the main diference is that motorways have emergency lanes and higher speed limits, but in-game they are functionally identical. Only one autóút is present in the game: the M0. Every other motorway is under the autópálya classification.

In-game, 10 of the Hungarian motorways have dedicated icons on the world map; the M43 and the M70 are only present on physical signage, with the M43 only being signed in Romania.

In addition to motorways, Hungary has the "Main Road" (Hungarian: főút) classification, which is used for roads with only one lane in either direction. The speed on these roads is typically limited to 70 km/h. While the Main Roads aren't marked on the world map, you can find them posted on signs around the country. Signed Main Roads include the following:
