Sweden is one of the three countries of Scandinavia, and among them has the most cities featured in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The country is bordered by Norway to the west and north, Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest via the Øresund Bridge.
Sweden was first introduced in the Scandinavia DLC, and later expanded with the Nordic Horizons DLC. When the Scandinavia DLC was first released, there were only 15 Swedish cities featured in the map expansion. Later, the city of Kapellskär was added in update 1.33 in preparation for the release of the Beyond the Baltic Sea DLC. The city of Karlstad will be added in update 1.57 with the Scandinavia DLC refresh in preparation for the release of the Nordic Horizons DLC.

Sweden designates all of its main motorways under the National Road (Swedish: Riksväg) classification. European Routes (Swedish: Europavägar) in Sweden are also classified as National Roads, but are distinguished with an 'E' preceding the number and a green background (in contrast with the typical dark blue background). There are 32 National Roads in Sweden featured in Euro Truck Simulator 2:
Complementing the National Road classification is the County Road (Swedish: Länsväg) system, distinguished by the use of three-digit serial numbers. The first signage for county roads were introduced in update 1.44, but they were not accessible. Signed county roads wouldn't become accessible until after the Scandinavia Refresh in update 1.57. There are two County Roads in Sweden featured in Euro Truck Simulator 2:
