DAF Trucks NV is a Dutch truck manufacturing company and a subsidiary of Paccar.


Summary

Its headquarters and main plant are in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Cabs and axle assemblies are produced at its Westerlo plant in Belgium. Some of the truck models sold with the DAF brand are designed and built by Leyland Trucks at their Farington plant in Preston, England. DAF is owned by the engine manufacturer Paccar, which also owns Kenworth and Peterbilt, both in American Truck Simulator.

It was previously named DAV in original versions of Euro Truck Simulator 2, because SCS Software didn't have the license for DAF trucks.

Customization

DAF sells three models of trucks that can be fully customized, the XF105, the XF Euro 6, and the 2021. The primary differences being the availability of particular cabins, engines, and stock colors for each. Also, an exclusive interior is available for the XF series in addition to the standard.

On August 18, 2017, the XF Tuning Pack DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 has been released. It adds many new customizations for the XF105 and the XF Euro 6.

Content

Since update 1.49 you can buy the model XF105 only from the truck dealers as long as you have one in your posession, but you have to buy one initially from the used truck dealer.

There are 15 different preconfigured models at DAF truck dealers in ETS2, but all of them are customizable.

Trivia

  • DAF is the only truck that has three wipers (only in the XF105 and the XF Euro 6) instead of two (only in the 2021).
  • DAF is not the only dutch truck manufacturer. There is also GINAF and Terberg
  • It is the fifth-oldest manufacturing company.
