Goodyear Roll-Out

Goodyear Roll-Out was an event held by SCS Software through the World of Trucks platform featured in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The event started on July 31, 2019 and ended on August 18, 2019. The event was to celebrate the release of Euro Truck Simulator 2 Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC.

Summary

The event was first announced on July 31, 2019 on SCS Software's blog, and SCS initially announced the event would last until the completion of Community Goal. The goal was achieved 3 days after the event, after which SCS made an follow-up announcement, claiming the event would be concluded on August 3.

A few days later, SCS made another announcement of reopening the event until August 18, 2019, but those completing their personal goal in the extended period would not get the Steam code for free DLC. In addition, SCS released a Community Contest to encourage truckers to share their Goodyear in-game content.

The final result of both the event and the associated community contest was announced on September 2, 2019.

Trucking Event

Prerequisites

To participate, a trucker must possess the following:

• A copy of Euro Truck Simulator 2 with either of the following DLC's activated:
  • Scandinavia
  • Vive la France!
  • Italia
  • Beyond the Baltic Sea
• An in-game profile connected to a World of Trucks account.

Requirement

• Participating truckers must complete at least 10 deliveries of "Goodyear tyres" trailers with External Contracts on Euro Truck Simulator 2.
• The community goal was to make 300,000 deliveries in total.

Rewards

• The World of Trucks Achievement Truck Shoes.
• Hanging Goodyear blimp cabin accessory.
• A Steam code to claim the Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC for free (for truckers completing personal goal on or before August 3, 2019 only).

Community Contest

Upon the re-opening of the trucking event, SCS also held a community event, in which truckers were encouraged to share the Goodyear game content via social media. The rules were as follows:

• To participate in the event, the Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC must be activated.
• Mods must not be activated.
• Truckers are asked to take a screenshot of their truck(s) and / or trailer(s) equipped with Goodyear tyres or accessories.
• The captured screenshots need to be uploaded to Twitter or Instagram, with hashtag #GoodyearRollOut and tagging profiles of both SCS Software and Goodyear.

The submission period was closed after 18 August 2019, same as the re-opened trucking event. SCS announced 5 winners on September 2, 2019, who received private messages from SCS for a custom reward picked from SCS e-Shop.

Statistics

According to SCS, the statistics of the events are as follows:

• The community goal was achieved on 2 August 2019.
• Over 40,000 truckers have completed their personal goal before the event's initial completion and, thus, eligible for the Steam code to unlock the Goodyear Tyres Pack DLC for free.
• By the end of the extended event period, 61,000 truckers have achieved their personal goals, with over 750,000 deliveries made in total.
• At least 2,000 submissions have been made for the Community Contest.
