As for most of SCS Software games, players can implement mods (short for modifications) for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
Installation
Downloading Steam Mods is the safest and easiest way to download mods.
1. Head to the Workshop.
- ETS2: https://steamcommunity.com/app/227300/workshop/
- ATS: https://steamcommunity.com/app/270880/workshop/
2. Find the Mod(s) you'd like to have or install and press 'Subscribe' on them
3. Steam will auto-download/auto-update these mods when they become available.
4. Open up ETS2/ATS and before you start the game, open the 'Mod Manager' on the main screen.
5. On this screen you'll find all the mods you Subscribed to, click on 'Activate' to turn them on.
6. Press 'Save' and that's it.
Please note, if you disable a Mod or you 'Unsubscribe' from a Mod, your Save may become corrupt or it may revert to your last saved position.
1. First download a mod, please note most websites feature stolen, reuploaded and illegal mods (don't use these) and they contain malware to infect/inject your PC with viruses. Please see the links below for verified mods that don't feature malware.

2. After you downloaded a mod, it's now to place it into the folder.
- Windows: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod / %USERPROFILE%\Documents\American Truck Simulator 2\mod
- Linux: /home/<your username>/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod / /home/<your username>/.local/share/American Truck Simulator 2/mod
- MacOS: /User/<your username>Library/Application Support/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod / /User/<your username>Library/Application Support/American Truck Simulator 2/mod
If not placed correctly, the mod won't work.
3. Open up ETS2/ATS and before you start the game, open the 'Mod Manager' on the main screen.
4. On this screen you'll find all the mods you Subscribed to, click on 'Activate' to turn them on.
5. Press 'Save' and that's it.
