The COVID-19 pandemic first hit China in December 2019, and spread to the rest of the world in the months afterwards. As a result, many countries entered a "lockdown" by March 2020, including the Czech Republic, the home country of the developer SCS Software.
To encourage people stay at home, avoid unnecessary social contact and minimize the chance of contacting the disease, SCS officially launched the event through a blog post on 30 March 2020.
On 8 April 2020, SCS announced the conclusion of the event with a blog post.
Personal Goal: Complete jobs with planned route length sum up to 2,500 km (circa 1,600 miles) or more. Using the planned length as the standard means taking detours does not increase one'a mileage.
Community Goal: Complete jobs with planned route length sum up to 20,000,000 km (circa 12,500,000 miles) or more.
A new Steam inventory item at the release of ETS 2 and ATS version 1.37.
For every 20,000,000 km milestone completed by the truckers' community, SCS pledges to offer a special Steam key in a "special social media giveaway campaign".

Truckers may download two Steam Workshop Mods developed by SCS, which enable the Truck at Homepaint job in ETS 2 and ATS respectively:
