Kiel is a city located in northern Germany, it is featured in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Summary

Kiel is the northernmost featured city in Germany (as well as continental Europe before the release of Euro Truck Simulator 2: Scandinavia). It was completely rebuilt in the 1.48 update[1] and was previously also reworked in the 1.32 update.[2]

Kiel is a city rich in history and enchanting charm, situated on the shores of the Baltic Sea in northern Germany. With its origins dating back to the 13th century, Kiel has a fascinating past that has shaped its present-day character. Initially a small fishing village, it flourished into a bustling maritime hub renowned for shipbuilding, trade, and naval prowess.

Features

Kiel was split up into three parts: Zentrum, Gaarden-Ost and Gaarden-Süd.
Each district contains different parts and landmarks of the city. In total, Kiel has 5 depots and 3 facilities.

Landmarks

Kiel consists of 16 unique landmarks that can be spotted in all districts. The only drivable one is the Gablenzbrücke, or the Gablenz bridge, which is a bridge that connects the districts of Zentrum and Gaarden. Some of the most popular landmarks that are present in Kiel are listed below:

Depots

Kiel originally had three companies in the city, which formally included a EuroGoodies, Posped and Stokes depots.

Facilities

A garage, a hotel and a service shop were also present in Kiel before it was revamped in update 1.48.

Landmarks

The only known landmarks of Kiel were the Hochhauscenter, the Port of Kiel and the Town Hall.

Connections

The north-south A7, part of the E45 passes Kiel to the west and has 2 interchanges that both lead into the A210, which leads into the city's main entrance. The Germany B76 icon.png going east connects Kiel directly with Travemünde.

Release History

Kiel has received 2 updates during it's lifetime. These are the changelogs.
  • In update 1.32, the trumpet interchange betwen A7 and A215 was removed, a new gas station on the road to Rostock was added and trumpet interchange between A7 and A210 was replaced with a cloverleaf.
  • In update 1.48, the city and roads were completely reworked up to SCS modern day standards and included 5 new depots.
