The Autoroute A1 is a highway in France. It's introduced to Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS 2) since version 1.26, as part of the Paris area rework prior to the release of Vive la France! DLC.

Despite the majority of the road being featured in the first version of Euro Truck Simulator, in the original release of ETS 2 the road was not featured at all, and truckers travelling between Paris and Lille had to either drive on minor roads, or make a detour on other Autoroutes, such as A2, A4, A23, A25 or A26.

Since version 1.26 of ETS 2, the section of A1 near Paris is featured in the new game map. However, it primary serves a connection between A104 and the northern section of N104 (both being parts of La Francilienne / the Paris outer ring road), instead of connecting Lille. Ironically, in-game signs do instruct truckers to follow the northbound A1 for Lille, but any trucker following this instruction would need to follow at least the A16 and A29 as well.

Route Details

ETS 2 renders the A1 and the northern section of N104 as one continuous road, which means the boundary between the two sections is not clear in the first sight.

In real life, the junction between the two roads is just north of the tunnels under Charles de Gaulle Airport. Since the tunnels are rendered in ETS 2, the following table regards the northern portal of the tunnels as the boundary between A1 and the northern section of N104.

Trivia

If the official ETS 2 map is opened in map editor mode, one can see an inaccessible highway running alongside the minor road between Paris and Calais. This possibly resembles the real-life A1 towards Lille.
