It was one of the cities to be added in the 1.11.1 update together with Graz and Venezia, as they were the first cities to be added outside of the release of the base game or a map expansion. It has a single access to the A2, which connects Wien / Graz to the east, and Italy (Venezia) to the west. Klagenfurt am Wörthersee has been reworked in update 1.44.
To the west there is a SellPlan market, a Tradeaux warehouse, and a Trameri warehouse in Hörtendorf.
Going to the west on the A2, there is a viewpoint showing the Wörthersee. Further west, there is a EuroAcres farm located outside the village of Lendorf, and a TREE-ET harvest site located between the villages of Michelhofen and Winklern.
All the landmarks close to the city center in real-life were removed after the update 1.44 rework. These have been replaced by the Church of St. Jakob an der Straße, Welzenegg Castle, a RUTAR Furniture Store (branded as "MAYER" in-game), and the "Nadel" sculpture.
Klagenfurt Airport remains in-game, but in a very reduced state, with only the runway rendered, and no planes can be seen taking off or touching down in the area.
Apart from the city center, the Klagenfurt Airport – located between the city proper and the Autobahn A2 – is also featured in the game. Truckers driving on the A2 may see aeroplanes taking off from the airport.
Connections
As mentioned in the introduction, the east-west A2 is the primary access to the city. Because of the mountainous geography of the area, the Autobahn runs through tunnels at both sides of Klagenfurt.
Further west, the A10 branches north from the A2 towards Salzburg, although the game only features a short section of it.
