18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2 is a truck simulation game developed by SCS Software and published by ValuSoft in 2011. It is the 8th and last installment of the 18 Wheels of Steel series. The game is a sequel to 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker.

Summary

Extreme Trucker 2 builds on the previous game, but it's not just a small facelift. It adds two new maps, but all the older maps have been extended too. It features the all-new physics system that SCS Software is developing, new AI upgrades and an updated effects system, it will be most noticeable on the way the truck lights work at night. There are glimpses in the game of things under development for Euro Truck Simulator 2.[1]

Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to the gameplay of the sequel, Extreme Trucker: There are different maps, which can be unlocked by transporting cargo in different sceneries. Unlike most other SCS games, in the Extreme Trucker games you don't have your own truck. Compared to Extreme Trucker, the game offers two new maps and a few new types of cargo.

Maps

The game includes extended versions of Extreme Trucker's 3 maps: Yungas Road in Bolivia, Tuktoyaktuk Winter Road in Canada and the Australian Outback in Australia, as well as two new maps: Montana in the United States and Bangladesh.

There are nine different truck manufacturers with 14 models in the game.
