Road of Death is a level in the Dangerous Drives game mode of Scania Truck Driving Simulator.

Description

Road of Death is the first level in Dangerous Drives, and is therefore a simple level to complete. The player must drive their truck down a winding cliff road, avoiding obstacles such as rocks, parked vehicles, and the cliff edge in order to cross the finish line at the end of the level. The placement of obstacles is generous; it is likely players will be able to complete the level with the maximum amount of points on their first try.

The level will fail if the trailer is disconnected through jackknifing, or if the player drives off the cliff edge.

Environment

Unlike many other levels in the game, Road of Death is set in a barren mountainous valley devoid of any trees. The road that the level focuses on runs from a massive hydroelectric dam along the side of a mountain and, based on its trajectory at the end of the level, can be assumed to meet with the road on the other side of the valley seen in the background of the level. Along the road periodically are grave markers, complete with crosses and candles.

Walkthrough

1. The player begins Road of Death on a straight road, and must drive towards the cliff road's first corner.

• 

  Starting position.

1. As the road curves to the right, it is recommended to stay as far left as possible to avoid construction equipment and barriers partially blocking the route.

• 

  Sticking to the left.

1. The road will continue to the left, following an "S" pattern, and then will head into a blind right curve. Once you pass a man on the cliff edge holding a camera, stick to the left side again to squeeze between a rock on the cliff edge and a parked SUV.

1. The road will curve left after, and will then lead into the toughest corner of the level. Take the right turn wide to avoid hitting construction cones or the parked truck with your trailer, but be wary of hitting rocks on the cliff edge with the front of your truck.

1. The road follows an "S" curve again. Take these turns wide.

1. The level is simple from this point on. Simply follow the road to the finish line, but take note of the small rocks at the side of the road near the end as those will count as a collision if you drive over them.

Points

Players are able to earn a maximum of 500 points in Road of Death. Every mistake reduces the amount of points the player finishes the level with, to a minimum of 0 points.
