The city is located at the south-western end of Lake Geneva, where the lake flows back into the Rhône. It is surrounded by two mountain chains, the Alps and the Jura.

Due to the complicated and turbulent history that Geneve shares with France, it is safe to say that it is the most "French city" that lies beyond the actual state borders. Among many other details, this legacy is mostly noticeable in the local architecture, which we hope will be better represented after having the entire city rebuilt from scratch.
