A229 (Russia)

Federal Highway A229 is an A road crossing the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, connecting Kaliningrad to the Lithuanian border at Kybartai. It is featured in the Beyond the Baltic Sea map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2. In-game, the route is extended further west, reaching the border with Poland southwest of Kaliningrad.

Trivia

• In real-life, the A229 only runs between Kaliningrad and the border with Lithuania. The in-game sections marked as part of the A229 are designated in real-life as roads 27A-002 and 27A-008.
• Southwest of Kaliningrad, a second carriageway visible along the motorway. While it may appear to be second carriageway under construction, it is actually a remnant of the Berlinka, which was a planned motorway intended to connect Berlin and Koenigsberg (Kaliningrad) and constructed by Nazi Germany. However, the project would never be completed due to the outbreak of World War II.
