⚠️ The directions in this section need verification.

Usage

Use of the {{check|directions}} template indicates that a location's driving directions are known or suspected to be insufficient to reliably reach the destination when arriving on at least one route. This could be because:

  • the directions were never field-checked, and a reasonable doubt about their correctness exists (e. g. when authors rely primarily on ATS street name maps, even though street names may well be unsigned at some crucial intersections).
  • the directions are clearly incomplete (e. g. they do not cover one or more out of several possible approaches to the location, or they are missing one or more important steps).
  • the game has been updated and the street layout has changed so significantly that the old directions likely no longer apply.
  • significant parts of the directions appear to be false (e. g. they give a wrong exit number from the interstate).
  • the directions appear to contain fictitious or made-up information (e. g. street names that are not actually signed in the game).

The {{check|directions}} template invites the community to verify and—if necessary—fix the information using verifiable sources, such as the game itself. It also signals drivers that extra care may be required.

Don't add this template if you are merely uncertain whether the directions are perfect. They don't need to be perfect—drivers will usually figure it out, and they can always improve the text of the directions themselves afterwards! This template is only meant for cases where it is believed that the directions are in fact insufficiently reliable.

When used, this template should be placed right after the location heading.

This template may be considered experimental until further notice.
