The M53 and M56 motorways are two motorways near Liverpool, United Kingdom, featured in UK Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2.

The M56 branches off from the M6 south of Liverpool, and has the southern access of the city connected to it. Further west the M53 takes over, until the next road junction where the A483 road continues across Wales towards Swansea.

Trivia

  • Both the M56 and the M62 cross the M6 in real-life, instead of ending on it as in the games. In other words, in real-life both motorways directly link Liverpool and Manchester such that drivers don't need to drive on the M6 at all.
  • In real-life the M53 is not directly connected to A483 – a short section of A55 road is between them. In addition, both the viaduct and gas station present on the in-game M53 simply don't exist in real-life.
  • Some truckers believe the section signed as M53 is also part of M56. (refer to the comments section for details)
