Interstate 49

Interstate 49 (I-49) is an north–south interstate highway spanning western Arkansas and western Missouri in American Truck Simulator. The route is split into two separate sections. The northern half runs from Interstate 30/US 71 near Fort Smith to the US 50/US 71 south of Kansas City. The southern half is restricted to the Texarkana loop in-game. In real-life, Interstate 49 continues further south from Texarkana into Louisiana, ending at Interstate 10 in Lafayette.

Course

Interstate 49 is split into two sections: a southern segment spanning Louisiana and southern Arkansas, and a northern segment spanning Missouri and northern Arkansas.

In-game, the southern segment is currently only rendered in Texarkana, comprising the eastern leg of the Texarkana loop. I-49 begins at a junction with AR 151, and progresses north along the eastern side of the city, crossing Interstate 30 before reaching US 71, which is where the southern segment terminates.

The northern segment of Interstate 49 begins along Interstate 40 east of Fort Smith in northwestern Arkansas. From here, the route runs through the Ozark National Forest and passes by the western sides of Fayetteville and Springdale before crossing the border into Missouri.

In Missouri, most of I-49 is concurrent with US 71, running along the western border of the state. The route first reaches the city of Joplin, where it briefly becomes concurrent with Interstate 44. Continuing north, the route passes by the towns of Carthage, Nevada, and Harrisonville. Just north of Harrisonville is a weigh station, after which I-49 continues north into the outskirts of Kansas City, where the highway terminates at the junction with US 50. From here, traffic can continue north into the Kansas City downtown via US 71.

Nevada business loop

Interstate 49 Business (I-49 Bus.) is a business loop of Interstate 49 in Nevada, Missouri. The route begins at exit 101 of I-49 and heads west into the town. It briefly meets US 54 before abruptly ending in the center of the town, as in real-life the I-49 Bus. turns north to rejoin the I-49 north of the town.

Release History

• In the initial version of the Arkansas map expansion DLC, the southern segment of Interstate 49 began at US 71 north of Texarkana and ended at AR 151 in south Texarkana, and the northern segment began at Interstate 40 east of Fort Smith and ended at US 412 in Springdale.
• In the initial version of the Missouri map expansion DLC, the section of Interstate 49 from US 412 in Springdale to US 50 / US 71 in Kansas City was added.
